Detailed: 2012 Volvo T5 AWD

This is a quick writeup as the customer needed the car by 5 pm and I couldn't start any earlier than 8 am so there was no time for a lot of pictures.

As always, before washing the car I started by cleaning the wheels, exhaust tips and the engine bay, here are some before and after shots.

Now, it was time to wash the car with my foam gun and power washer. The power washer helps with bugs, tar and other dirt on the wheels, wheel wells and tires while the foam gun provides a good lubrication layer between the washing mat and the paint. Also, the power washer is great in removing dust and other particles on the car that can increase the chance of scratches during washing.

After I was done washing, I did the plastic bag test and realized that the car finish is in bad shape, a clay was needed and here's a picture of what came off of it! Keep in mind that this was after a wash, they don't clay your car at the local "hand car wash"

The customer specifically pointed out to one nasty scratch on the driver side rear fender and I was able to remove almost 95% of it.

For those of you who have been reading my blog or know me in person, know that I obsess over details and that's one of the main aspects that really differentiate a detail from a car wash. I noticed that the letters on the trunk were dirty in the tight spots, your average detailer will probably miss that and forget about getting in there with a car wash, here are some before and after
